In Their Reflection, Love
Linocut print
This linocut was inspired by the resilient baby elephants at an orphanage in Africa. What struck me most was how they use their trunks to constantly touch, lean on, and reassure one another—it is their language of love.
In this piece, I focused on the intertwining of their trunks to show that deep, playful connection. Even though these calves have faced loss, they find strength in each other. By carving their sturdy shapes into the block, I wanted to capture both their physical power and their gentle hearts.
Print size 10″ x 8″. Printed in 2026.
This image was illustrated, transferred to linoleum block, then carved out of linoleum and printed with black ink onto lightweight natural lokta paper from Nepal. Due to the process of printing linoleum blocks, each piece may contain minor variation. This adds to the charm of relief printing – each piece is unique.
