This image was illustrated, transferred to linoleum block, then carved out of linoleum and printed with an oil-based ink onto lightweight natural lokta paper. Lokta paper is a strong, delicate handmade paper from Nepal. It is made of the inner bark of the daphne bush found in the Himalayas and neighboring mountain ranges. Lokta paper a sustainable resource. Due to the process of printing linoleum blocks, each piece may contain minor variation. This adds to the charm of relief printing – each piece is unique.
